Dental trauma can occur in different ways in deciduous and permanent teeth. The dentist determines the appropriate treatment methods (such as dentin protection, root canal treatment, replacing the tooth) according to the severity of the trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The child should be taken to the dentist as soon as possible after dental trauma. This situation requires more serious intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"First_Aid_and_Emergency_Response\"><\/span>First Aid and Emergency Response<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First aid is of great importance in case of dental trauma in children. Things to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bleeding control<\/strong>: Bleeding is controlled by applying pressure with a clean gauze pad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protecting the tooth fragment<\/strong>: If a broken tooth fragment is found, it is kept in milk, saline solution or the child&#8217;s saliva.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avulsion condition<\/strong>: If the tooth is completely out: The root of the tooth should not be brushed or cleaned harshly. If possible, the extracted tooth should be tried to be placed back in place, if it cannot be placed, it should be protected in milk or saline solution and a dentist should be consulted immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Treatment_Methods\"><\/span>Treatment Methods<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Treatment in dental trauma varies according to the type of trauma:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Enamel fractures<\/strong>: Restored with aesthetic composite filling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fractures not reaching the pulp<\/strong>: The cracked area is cleaned and filled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fractures reaching the pulp<\/strong>: Pulp capping or root canal treatment may be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avulsion<\/strong>: The tooth is placed in place and splinted. Root canal treatment is performed. Afterwards, it is followed up with monthly periods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Luxation injuries<\/strong>: The tooth is placed and splinted to immobilize it. Root canal treatment is performed. The tooth is taken for follow-up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Alveolar bone fractures<\/strong>: Surgical intervention may be required.
